Looking For Scrabble Help Is Easy

By Jerri Mcguire

Anyone can find Scrabble help looking in just a few places. If searching for words there are a couple options depending on player preference. It does not matter whether it is to increase word play or due to a challenge words can be found in the OSPD-Official Scrabble Players Dictionary. This dictionary can be found online or at a local bookstore. There are even programs to download that will allow players to enter their letters if they are stuck and the possible words will be displayed.

It does not matter what part of the world a player lives in the OSPD can be accessed online. Due to the British National Scrabble Championship in 1980 the OSD in England was switched to the Chambers Dictionary. Over the course of many years the OSPD has changed four times with the final edition eliminating any offensive words. This led players to using the third edition due to more words being included.

Tournaments in North America use a whole other book list. The OCTWL-Official Club and Tournament Word List which is the sanctioned version used for tournaments in the United States, Canada, Israel and Thailand. Where as the OSPD fourth version is said to be a family and children oriented type dictionary.

The OSPD can be used to raise scores as much as about fifty points. There are about 100 two letter as well as about 1000 three letter words. Most people are only knowledgeable about half of these.

Using a web site to enter the drawn letters to get available words is a great way to get access to words when drawing a blank. Just enter the letters drawn and click find words and there will be a list that pops up of available words that play. Adding even more to the score possibly helping a player to win.

No matter where a player finds the legal words list when playing this game the list can be helpful. The can come from a dictionary or even a website. Scrabble help can just be an internet click away for all players. Read more about: scrabble help
