The ceramic dog bowl is the first of these bowls available. Apart from looking very nice, these bowls are also heavy enough to make sure none of your dog's food will spill on the ground. The only problem is sometimes, these bowls contain chemicals that provide glazing which can be harmful to your dog's health. So when you have to buy these kinds of bowls, you need to be sure that they are going to be safe for your dog to eat and drink out from.

On the other hand, plastic bowls are cheaper and dishwasher safe but you may need to check whether or not your dog is allergic to the chemicals that are used to create these plastic bowls. Although considered to be the best among all available bowls, the stainless steel dog bowl also happens to be the most expensive of the lot. Among the many reasons is these bowls look great, they are bigger, they are more sturdy and are specially designed to last for a long time. And when you do buy these bowls, you have to keep these elevated so your dog will not have difficulty eating or drinking out of it and you won't find it difficult to pour food in.
