Timesaving Tools For Scrapbookers - Part 2

By Janette Miller

Welcome back to the second part in our series of time saving tools for scrapbookers. In our previous article, we had a glance at the cunning tools that are used by scrapper to avoid wasting time and get great results.

We'll be continuing on with this by looking at:

Page Punches

These are something that nearly everybody has used. We have all had to punch holes in paper to put something in a ring binder for school or work.

However , the easy hole punch has evolved way beyond that now.

Now you can purchase them in all sizes and styles - stars, butterflies, aliens, flags, plants and more. The list just goes on - Ttere's just too much to cover!

If you actually want to experience just how many punches are available, check a web or brick and mortar store and have a little glance at the large number of punches available.

Punches are also the best way to economize by making your own cheap scrapbooking supplies. Once you have the punch, all that you need is paper and you may have an endless supply of the same shape!

Be warned though, its quite simple to get a collection of different punches, heaven knows I've a drawer bursting with them at home!

Paper Trimmers

The very first thing to take note of is that a paper trimmer is not a paper punch. Some people get the two confused.

A paper trimmer is essentially a ruler with a blade that runs down one side. These are usually mounted on a backing board that has pre-set graphs, measurements and angles already measured out on it to assist you with measuring and cutting.

All you've got to do its line up your paper with the right marking on the backing board and swipe the blade across once or twice and you are done!

A superbly straight, precision cut every time!

In our next article, we will be looking at a more hands on approach to saving a little time while decorating.
