Moving around Varadero
There is a double-decker open-on-top bus that runs on a regular schedule from the tip of the peninsula to the town. You can also hire a car or even better a scooter which is more justifiable given the small size of the peninsula.
What to do
Visit the oldest tourist attraction in Cuba, open to visitors since the 1860s. The caves of Bellamar are extensive and impressive. Or simply be entertained on a Catamaran with open snack bar that takes you to a beautiful coral reef to enjoy snorkelling and finish the day by swimming with dolphins.
Accommodation in Varadero
Varadero beach area has by far the biggest diversity of hotels in Cuba, you will find whole range of accommodation from little hotels to well known international hotel chains like Melia, Sandals, Iberostar or the local Cubanacan.
Stay safe
Psssyt pssyt where you from? It is not a friendly start of conversation. Probably they will be trying sell you something or give you directions (even you don't need them) expecting a tip back. Simply say NO and keep going. Apart from the odd encounter with undesirable street hustlers there is no much to worry about.
