Amazon Kindle Fire, Successful iPad Alternative

The New Amazon Kindle Fire is basically the latest compact and pocket-friendly tablet that has a 7-inch IPS LCD gorilla glass display and has 16 million colors. It is being run by the android 2.3 Gingerbread, a modified version of Google's operating system. It has 8GB internal memory.

You get to enjoy a much quicker browsing experience with this unique web browser built by Amazon since it has Silk that is a new type of mobile browser that's able to predict which pages you might want to view and pre-loads them. This is not only giving you a great web browsing experience, but it can also give you all the basic online features, such as sending emails, listening to music, reading PDFs, watching films, and connecting with your friends on Facebook or Twitter.

The Kindle supports Adobe Flash web content unlike the iPad 2 which does not. The system performance of this amazing Kindle Fire includes a dual-core processor, a micro USB 2.0 port, and an estimated 8 hours of battery life. Personally, I believe Adobe Flash is necessary to have a better browsing experience.

The Amazon's cloud storage and cloud processing are also being added to the entire Kindle Fire experience. The same with Apple, the Amazon can create a back up with any digital media you purchase, like those apps, music, and e-books. Any time you like, it can also serve the files back down. More so, the Amazon do not only make or create archives of the purchased contents but the included Cloud Drive service offers another 5GB of storage. This is to store any additional content you wish to access like the photos, music, documents, etc.

The Amazon has also a vast server farms which are good also for more and not just on storage. The work of loading web pages is divided by the unique web browser on the Kindle Fire. This will be then between the device and Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) system. As a result of the division of labor, there are faster page loads and some predictive loading of content and sites can be access often. No tablet on the market, not even the iPad, has a feature like this.

In addition, the Amazon Kindle Fire gets to have full access of all the contents offered by Amazon. What are these contents which can be accessed? Examples are "hundreds" of magazines and newspapers, 100,000 on demand movies and TV shows to choose from, Kindle eBooks, over 100,000 on demand movies and TV shows to choose from, and up to 17 million songs. Not only that, you get the chance of accessing the most popular Android apps and games via the Amazon Android App store. What are these? Examples are Angry Birds, Plants vs. Zombies, Cut the Rope and a lot more. Basically, the Amazon's suite of digital stores and services are always ready to go right out of the box since they are all pre-loaded.

Of course, we must never forget the display screen. T tell-tale sign of any sub-$300 tablet is poor screen quality, as what we have tried to experience. The Amazon's tablet may seem to buck this trend. As what the iPad uses which is the wide-angle IPS screen technology, this device uses also the same with a 1,024 x 600-pixel resolution display.

The Amazon's Kindle Fire and the solid suite of existing services they've built for Android are the main reasons why this $199 Kindle Fire is one of the most successful iPad alternatives of today.
