By Charlie Jones

What young boy wouldn't love to have a fire truck party? We all love to stop at look as we witness the fire truck rush down the boulevard. What better symbol of heroism than a bright shiny new fire truck? Fire trucks are the perfect centerpiece around which to build you fire truck party games.

Pass the Fire Truck

Hot potato is a classic children's game that can be made to play with a fire truck all the same. Have the kids sit in a ring with one kid holding the toy fire truck. For additional fun, put on some music to enhance the experience, having the kids start passing the fire truck when the music starts. The child holding the fire truck when the music stops is out of the game. You continue the game until only a single child remains. The last remaining kid it the winner and the prize is the toy fire truck.

Fire Truck Relay Race

Begin with two large fire truck toys, big enough to be pushed by the kids. Set up two copies of the same obstacle course in the yard or on your driveway. You might use cones, chairs or other objects for the children to navigate their fire trucks around. Make up two teams from the group of children and give each a fire truck toy. The object of the game is for each child to push the fire truck through the entire course. Upon the return of the first child, the second child on the team continues by pushing the toy fire truck around the entire course. The winning team is the first team to have all of its players complete the obstacle course.

If there is cutting involved make sure you supervise.

Attach a Number to a Fire Truck

Indicate the door on a large drawing of a fire truck. Using a different number for each child, create a cut out number and write the child's name on the back of the number. After being spun three times blindfolded, the player is to attempt to place the number on to the side of the fire truck. The number of the child which is placed closest to the proper spot on the side of the door is the winner.
