Taking care of your baby's skin can feel intimidating and complicated, especially if you are a new parent. As a new parent it is easy to become overwhelmed with trying to be perfect. Would it help you to learn that common sense is at the heart of baby skin care? Clean and clear baby skin does not depend on expensive or complicated skin care routines. The fact is that you don't need to buy a large number of products to keep your baby's skin clean and clear. If you want to learn how to develop a skin care routine for your new baby, keep reading!

This is why you, as a parent, need to have a skin care routine ready to go as soon as your baby is born. Preparing your child for proper skin care as an adult involves starting a regular skin care routine early on in life and teaching your child that skin care is important. Here are some tips for developing your own baby's skin care routine.
Before you put the baby into the bath water make sure you test the water's temperature. A baby's skin is sensitive and burns more easily than an adult's skin. Babies don't like very warm water; in fact, it isn't until much later in life that people start to enjoy hot water when they bathe. The best way to test your baby's bathwater is to test it with your elbow. Your elbow has very sensitive skin so if the water is too hot or cold for your elbow you need to adjust the temperature of the water. Your baby's bath water should, at most, be lukewarm.

Babies can get acne too-especially when they are newborns. The acne formation starts before the baby is even born - the mothers hormones are the root cause. Oil production in the baby's skin is caused by the mother's hormones, the oil gets trapped in the pores and lead to infection. Never use adult acne treatments on a baby! This can lead to endangering your child's health. Instead keep the baby's face clean through regular bathing and the acne will clear up on its own in a few weeks.

You don't need a lot of soap at bath time to keep your baby's skin clean. You can thoroughly clean your baby with just a few drops of soap. Using more than that will dry out the baby's skin and make it vulnerable to infections and other skin problems. Don't put the soap directly on to your baby's skin. Use a soft washcloth to build up a soapy lather which will be perfectly effective in cleaning your baby and is easy to rinse off. It will be easier for you, especially during the first few months of your baby's life, to clean one part of your baby compl

Practicing proper baby skin care can be done via a variety of methods. It is important to remember that proper skin care involves more than just a regular bath. Finding the right laundry detergent, using sunscreen and even letting your baby roll around naked are all important skin care decisions. Don't fret: you will get used to caring for your baby's skin in no time. It really will feel like a habit before too long!
