Advice On Becoming A Better Scrapbooker

By Cooper Stalworthe

Do you like to scrapbook? Are you tired of always needing to go to the store to buy more materials just to do one more page in a scrapbook? What most people don't understand about scrapbooking is that it is an art, not just on the paper but the way you do everything related to the hobby. One of the major issues that people have with scrapbooking as their hobby is they don't always have the room for the books and if that is the case then I highly recommend getting some digital scrapbooking software and if you do have the room then I would still suggest getting the software so that you don't have to run to the store time and time again.

One of the things you must understand about scrapbooking is that it can get more and more expensive the longer you to it. One of the things that people do and don't even think of is when they buy gold flaked paper at more than $2 a sheet, the costs rack up very quickly. Just remember, scrapbooking is supposed to be a fun hobby, so make it just that.

Advice to help you with scrapbooking

Don't get behind - The first tip that I have for you is to not get behind on your scrapbooking. One of the problems that people have whether they are backed up just a month or a few weeks is they try to speed through the entire process which makes everything look thrown together and sketchy. If you are going to make scrapbooks for your hobby then there is no reason to rush through them and make them look halfway done.

Use existing scrapbooks - Another tip that I have for you is to use an existing scrapbook as opposed to buying a new one. The reason you would do this is if you can make a second part or extend the previous scrapbook. Just whatever you do don't take the pages out and try to start a new book because this will only create more problems for you later on. Just know that using the same scrapbook for more than 1 occasion will work just fine as long as you put in the time and effort into it.

Use digital scrapbooking - If you have not tried digital scrapbooking then you don't know what you are missing. Most people that try going digital say they really like it and why not, you don't have a bunch of papers laying around, you can save projects and come back to them later, each scrapbook looks professionally done, and you can make more than one copy. Just know that digital scrapbooking will most likely be the new normal and that is why I think you need to try it out. Just remember that if you don't like it you can go right back to what you were doing.
