So we've covered a large amount of ground with our past articles, including thimbles, scissors, seam rippers and more. This time we will be heading towards more opinion than fact based totally on what really should be an indispensable tool for serious quilters.
Wall Hangers
This was one of the biggest 'tools ' that polarized views among quilters. Some say this particular tool isn't 'essential ' while there are others that say without it, they couldn't quilt at all!
If you've never heard of a wall hanger, its essentially a rack or bar that is mounted on your wall. You then hang your quilt from clamps/pegs/hooks (dependent on the design) and work on your quilt.

Some quilters depend on this strategy, remarking it beats consistently leaning over a table or crawling around on the floor attempting to stitch together the finer parts of their quilt. If you suffer with any aches or pains or have any posture problems in the slightest, I can understand why this would be a definite winner!
Thread Racks
Efficient and easy, thread racks are the best way to orgainze and store countless spools of thread.
The best part of a rack is that they revolve at the base, like a greeting card rack, so you can just rotate and look over you spools until you find the color or type you're looking for.
Working on a rose quilt design and require some rose red thread? No problem, a quick spin of the rack and you'll find it in almost no time!
Quilters Grips
If you have exploited a thimble, you have used something like quilters grips. The difference is that these are engineered to fit over every finger on your hand.
I count on these, I have never lost grip on fabric, never had a hard time separating materials or grabbing threads and its made it ever so easy to thread a needle as well!
That about does it for my list
