Training Your Pet Is Not Easy

By Amber Shipplen

Having a well behaved pet dog speaks highly about its owner. At the other extreme, a pet dog that causes harm to people and properties is sure to land its owner in jail or face huge damage suits. Owning a pet is really more than cuddling or hugging it to your delight. It comes with responsibilities. Apart from taking good care of it, theres also the social responsibility that also involves not messing your own lifestyle. The dog that is properly trained does that and provides a more rewarding experience for its owner.

Getting your Puppy to Walk with You
After visiting the vet for the usual vaccines, be sure that shopping for your dog supplies includes not just the food and cleaning shampoos, but also dog chew toys, food bowl, dog beds and litter mats. Teaching your dog to eat only at certain times of the day, chew the dog toy and not your shoes, visit the dog litter and sleep only at designated place in the house is basic to having your pet live with you. Otherwise, you could end up donating your pet to the nearest SPCA.

Investing on your Pet Dog Training

You can also check with online stores to find out about their line of ID dog collars which not only tells the world that the dog has a master, but is basic as it allows attaching a leash for behavioral training.

Training Your Dog to Sleep Only in One Place

At 3-4 months, the puppy is often at its most hyperactive. Putting you dog on a leash allows you to control the pet this early and over the next few months, it learns to behave properly. Leash training lets the dog know who its master is and allows you to reshape its behavior when applying the carrot and stick method. Raising your voice, using a pet corrector or simply pulling on the leash can indicate to the dog a wrong behavior. Just be sure to have an ample supply of dog goodies from your regular dog supplies that you should use to reward good behavior.
