I am going to apply an idea I recently received to my Passap experience
1. When anyone wounds you: write that experience in the sand so the winds of compassion can erase it away
2. When a person does something good: write that experience in stone so no wind can ever erase it away.
This is my experience in sand:
Believe me, I own each and every Passap resource available and attended many of the trainings have even paid many different Passap factory trained instructors to help me and wound up with nothing because they were not fully trained or willing to answer my questions and give methe explanation when I had questions or the how you should not get a result again that I did not like or want. Several of them even recounted at the end of the classes I had paid for they did not know and had not given me the right information regarding the machine set up and we had been doing the steps wrong for all of the time they were showing me. They did not know how to give me the proper steps or a repayment.
For almost all of the seminars I attended I found I got just enough info to tell you the demonstrator knew what they were doing but not adequate for me to duplicate their result after I got home because the written material was so poor if you even got written materials.

Because the Swiss actually did a good job selling the sizzle and failed to cover what was required to happen to get the result they were showing us. They indicated you just simply sat next to the machine and superb knits just got off finished while you saw the machine work. I have truely had them say that to me when they were doing demonstrations. That was when demonstrating, after they already had set up the machine so I never got to see what went into programming or basic set up for what the machine was doing, often with a motor running.
So it appeared to be really straightforward to get the result they were demonstrating. They never bothered to go into the details as they were just selling machines not teaching how to utilize them after they sold them and they were delivered.
After that I just got excuses about they would not have time to direct and the materials were more than enough for me to figure it out on my own because they did not want or want to be interrupted in selling more machines. I am very certain it is one of the causes that they're no longer in business. Even the dealers were taught enough solely to sell and not always the way to use or the easy way to take care of the machine.
Are you able to imagine, my first machine (which I paid full price for) was delivered, I got a 15 minute lesson and the dealer left for 4 months to spend some time with her family outside the state and never did teach me when she got back home.
One of my members replied "Agreed - fortunately , I knew better just from having a look at the machine - they're not intuitive - can't read minds - dang, they left that off!"
Not forgetting, that again, that we all want to "git er done" and do something right away and want to produce something the day we sit down to it, even if it's only a gauge swatch for those with "itchy" hands.
Most folks who get this machine do not cover the basics and we see tons of e-mails on the Passap lists that are a good indication of their absence of doing this when they are asking how it's possible to get out of a mess. Granted there are not a great deal of resources and most of us are visible learners so reading something and not having the steps we can see as we are being instructed could be a real problem to sort.
Here's my experience in stone:
If it wouldn't have been for the marketing the Swiss did about this machine, I could not have looked at it, purchased it or had so many years of delight as well as revenue from it due to the sales of my knitwear to stores. I'd have not kept making an attempt to use it and when I learned trying to aid others have the same exciting experience I had enjoyed.
I have to be aware of this statement: Be kinder than required, for everyone you meet is fighting a battle.
They were just doing the best they could (yes, truly) Everyone has a different learning style and wants to get their info in a way that's comfortable for them.
So taking this approach, I

So taking this approach, I will be letting the winds erase all bits of the negative experiences I've seen had about this knitting machine and what people I met did on my journey and what they would not do and looking forward and writing this in stone, I can respect the fact that. I saw the potential in the machine and decided to learn it and use it. I will continue to learn because of the amazing possibilities of the machine and I continue to be drawn by those possibilities.
