The Significance Of Firecrackers In Diwali

Diwali is the hottest and most celebrated festival in India. It is celebrated in every corner of the country and even all around the globe. The parties of Diwali symbolize the victory of Lord Rama over the malignant King Ravana in the classic Ramayana. There are several traditions and legends connected with the Diwali parties. Each faith has a different fable behind the parties. It is a convention to supply prayers to the gods and goddess of wealth, exchange sweets and burst firecrackers.

Firecrackers are the integral part of Diwali parties. Folks from all age groupings enjoy a show of fireworks in the sky. Youngsters take great happiness in bursting firecrackers. Actually most children approach the task of firecracker shopping with intense deliberation. Every care is taken when it comes to their selection of firecracker to be used on Diwali day.

Types of Firecrackers

Traditionally when it comes to fireworks the louder the better. There are several sorts of fireworks available in the markets. These include;

Sparkles: These are quite firecrackers which give off attractive sparkles on burning. They come in multiple colours as well as plain glints.

Snakes: These are little tables, which upon burning, burn in the shape of snake-like coils.

Brightly coloured matches: These are just like regular matches but burn with decorative flames.

Flowerpots: These come in various sizes and great colours.

Bombs: Bombs are one of the biggest selling kinds of firecrackers in the market. Little to massive, string to double bombs and the ones that emit colourful sparkles when in the air and then burst with a shower of lights.

Catherine wheels: Catherine wheels are sometimes called 'chakris ' in Hindi. These go 'round on the ground ' and emit colourful lights.

Rockets: Another one of the most well-liked firecrackers is a rocket. They fire into the air, make a swishing sound and then explode.

The significance:

Firecrackers have a special importance during Diwali celebrations. They're burst as a party or as a sign of thank you to the gods for blessing the earth with health, affluence, wisdom,, tranquility as well as opulence.

The custom of bursting firecrackers lights up the sky with a blind of lights. However it is suggested that sensible precautions be taken when using firecrackers. Keep the rocket upright and erect, bombs should be lit at a good distance and always keep a pail of water handy in the event of emergencies.

Firecrackers also make a perfect gift for Diwali. The trend for Diwali 2011 is toward more eco-friendly cracker, which are environment friendly and less noisy.
