Passap Mystery

By Marjorie J McDonald

Sometimes these computerized tools are just too smart for their own good. I regularly think that about my Passap console when it does things that I just did not think I had selected.

I have named one of my machines Miss Smarty Pants just because you know how people act when they are clear that they know the answer and are just waiting to point out to you told you so? Well, the dialogue computer is only doing what we entered so if we get an error guess who is the only one to blame? Get your mirror out and take a closer look.

Then, I know I have to give Miss Smarty Pants a question and answer session to see where I missed and gave the console the incorrect set of info. Again, notice I said I missed--she does not make any mistakes.
I tell you, sometimes I think is just the ONLY thing that follows directions and does what you tell it too. It isn't Miss Smarty Pants, it is always me so often the more quickly I say and admit the happier we both are and I can get back on the plan with what the existing knitting project is for the moment.

But the dialogue computer does keep me on my toes and targeted so I am really happy for that.

I have the member area packed with information that I know a machine knitter of any level might benefit from knowing. I over deliver deliberately to help whoever might wish to learn feel less stress.

This really happened to me, I recall when I acquired my first machine and the dealer delivered it, set it up, gave me a 15 min lesson and left for California to spend the subsequent 4 months with her grandkids.

That was before Internet, voice mail cell phones and practically before chocolate. Man, that was a particularly maddening time and I might never want any person I was teaching to feel that way.

The knit duds don't just jump off of the machine finished and completed to wear. Irrespective of how hard we wish them to appear. The knit projects involve a great deal of cooperation and know how on our part.

If you want to learn lessons in steps or get a refresher you can do that at the members site. If you would like to just walk around your knitting machine or use it as a garments holder, you can do that.

How new people buy this extraordinary knitting machine and think they don't have to learn what to do is a mystery to me.
