A Guide To First Time Mothers

By Jeneliya Fernando

For first-time mothers, it is important that you prepare the things that your baby will need once he or she arrives. When my husband and I discovered that we were going to have a baby, we immediately set out to buy some of the things that our baby would need. Although we do not know the gender of our baby, we were so excited that we immediately went to the baby section of the shopping mall. Needless to say, much like other new mothers, everything was just a little overboard. Fortunately, I bumped into a friend who is a mother of two children. And so, she assisted me to list down the items I would need.
* A baby bed. It is, obviously, one of the most important items for your baby because this is where your baby would sleep. I went for a comfortable and functional crib as per advised of my friend. There had been various cribs which include Storkcraft crib which are simple to put together and also have some built-in drawers for storage area.

* Diaper bags. My friend told me that when choosing diaper bags, I should not only look for the storage capacity but also for its style and design. Yes, diaper bags are for storing baby items like diapers, towels, toys, feeding bottles, etc. But, you should choose a bag that could also store your possessions such as keys, glasses, comb, powder and others. In fact, Ju Ju Be diaper bags have got all these features therefore I made the purchase.

* Clothes. It is important that you do not go overboard, like what I did. You only need to spend for the necessities since your baby will be growing up fast. So buy two to four pieces of the following: stretch suits, vests, socks, wraps or shawls, cardigans, mittens and a hat. Also you have to get baby diapers, baby cream, baby wipes, feeding bottles and so on.

The things listed here are just some of the things you may need. When your newborn gets older, you should buy a toddler mattress for your child to sleep in. That was what my husband and I did. Don't get over excited when you buy your baby items. Purchase only a bit of everything since your baby will certainly grow out of them before you realize it.
