Pirate Costumes - The Latest Costume Party Disguise

With the rise in films regarding pirates, it is no surprise that one of the most popular fancy dress outfits are pirate Halloween costumes. They suit any age range from very young children right through to older people. They can be simple to make and look very good once you have added all the accessories and other bits that go with them.

You could team the old cut off black trousers with a white shirt half tucked in with waistcoat over this if need be. Male pirate outfits would look good with stripey or white long socks and a pair of very pointy boots or shoes. If you have a bandana then use this but if not you can make one from an old piece of fabric.
There are more options if you are female. You could either wear the trousers outfit or you could go for something more feminine such as a dress or skirt and top. Whichever you pick ensure the bottom of the skirt is jagged or a handkerchief hemline for an older effect and you could also get away with a boned top.

Use face paints to make it look realistic. Smudge dark brown faintly into spots or smear lightly over the whole of your face. Children would wear pretty much the same sort of outfit that an adult would wear, in that you can go and buy trousers to cut up quite cheaply, use one of your own shirts on a child as it will be nice and big.

For adult women a costume could consist of a jagged edge or a skirt cut on the bias, in shiny red fabric or black if you prefer the all black look. A bustier type top would go with this or a well fitting vest top. For accessories you could improvise and see if you could find a toy stuffed parrot to sit on your shoulder!
