October, November, and April, are probably the worst months to actually visit Alaska. Generally it is very wet and there isn't a great deal for tourists to do, and so touring during this time isn't the best option.
December to March is winter in Alaska, and this is also an excellent time of year to go there. During this time of year anything can be done with all of the snow and ice, and therefore regular activities such as snowmobile racing, ice carving, and skiing can all occur during these months.
