Hurghada Holidays: Something for the Kids

By Claire Collins

If you're taking the kids away on Hurghada holidays nobody will be disappointed; there are so many exciting things to experience, from camel rides, to underwater adventures the whole family will enjoy.

The former fishing village of Hurghada is now far more recognisable as a modern day Oceanside resort, offering holidaymakers the chance to make the best of sun, sand and sea-based activities. Egypt is a great destination for children as well, and family trips to Hurghada will be rewarded with unforgettable memories of outdoor adventures, ancient history and getting back to nature.

There's no doubt that kids will love a trip to explore the Egyptian pyramids. Be sure to visit the Valley of the Kings for a real glimpse into the world of the ancient Egyptians, and if you get a guided tour you'll have a greater and more interesting insight into life back then. Tales of mummies, pharoahs, and other fascinating aspects of ancient Egyptian life will fascinate and educate children of all ages. Parents too! Your Egypt holidays should also include a trip to see the Sphinx in the desert. At night there is a light and sound show which will prove entertaining for all.

It's also possible to take the fun under the water and do some snorkelling on your Egypt holidays. Diving is what most people flock to the region for but if that's too difficult for kids to take part in snorkelling is an easy and equally-fun way to spend a day. See the amazing world under the Red Sea.

Most kids love animals, and camels are one of the most fascinating animals you can discover! Head to the Bir Shalatein market and see where camels are bought and sold. These creatures are valuable given their strength, and ability to travel across the desert. There are also plenty of interesting camel tours, which take you on a safari into the desert, on the back of a camel. Kids will love to be up high on the back of a camel with mum or dad - it will be a family holiday you'll never forget.
