Can You Remember Your Santa Letters as a Child?

By Yvonne Brixey

Exciting Santa Letters!

Do you remember Christmas time when you were growing up? I do, and my thoughts were all on Christmas presents, Santa Claus, Rudolph, and Santa letters. I was so excited as soon as I remembered, "We need to write our Santa letters"! Then my sisters and I, with the help of my mom, would get out all the crayons, a pencil and sometimes some cute Christmas stickers if we had them and start on our Santa letters. We always addressed our Santa letters to Santa Claus and then told him everything we wanted for Christmas. Then we would ask questions about Rudolph and the rest of Santa Claus reindeer. We always thanked him for the Christmas presents we received last year and then we justified why we thought we should be on his "good" list.

Our Santa letters were very long - sometimes our Santa letters were multiple pages! At the bottom we would sign our name in our fanciest writing and write "Merry Christmas" by it. After we put the Santa letters in an envelope, we would write on the outside "Santa Claus" and addressed it to the North Pole. Then in the mailbox it went and away to the North Pole. Let me tell you, children love writing Santa letters!

Nowdays children in many parts of the world are writing those same Santa letters and getting just as excited. It's probably similar at your house at Christmas time. Santa letters are a wonderful tradition that has been passed down through many generations of children. Although Christmas Eve and excitement about Christmas presents are high on their list, so is writing their very own Santa letters. I hope you will continue this tradition with your own child or children of writing Santa letters to Santa Claus. Too many Christmas traditions are being done away with because they are thought to be foolish or not realistic. Everyone seems to want to stifle the Santa letters, magic, and and joy that children (and all of us) remember and love at Christmas time.

So, this Christmas season, take some time and help your child or children write their Christmas letters and feel that excitement once more as their eyes light up and their smiles grow bigger. You will be as excited as the children when those Santa letters are in the mailbox. Do you know why? Because of the new websites that help you write "return" Santa letters for each of your children!

It used to take parents a lot of time and worry to write the perfect Santa letters in return to their children so they would know that Santa Claus got their letter. Parents used to have to say just the right thing, write with the certain color of pen that Santa uses, and make Santa Claus signature look really authentic. Then there was the North Pole postmark to worry about. All this would make the task of writing Santa letters very stressful. But now, there are many websites that make writing your Santa letters quick, stress-free and personalized to each child. On the site you choose the type of Santa letters you want, add any personalized information to make your Santa letters special for your children, and ta da...your perfect Santa letters are ready! Now you can have a very Merry Christmas indeed!
