Exciting Santa Letters!
Do you remember Christmas time when you were growing up? I do, and my thoughts were all on Christmas presents, Santa Claus, Rudolph, and Santa letters. I was so excited as soon as I remembered, "We need to write our Santa letters"! Then my sisters and I, with the help of my mom, would get out all the crayons, a pencil and sometimes some cute Christmas stickers if we had them and start on our Santa letters. We always addressed our Santa letters to Santa Claus and then told him everything we wanted for Christmas. Then we would ask questions about Rudolph and the rest of Santa Claus reindeer. We always thanked him for the Christmas presents we received last year and then we justified why we thought we should be on his "good" list.
Our Santa letters were very long - sometimes our Santa letters were multiple pages! At the bottom we would sign our name in our fanciest writing and write "Merry Christmas" by it. After we put the Santa letters in an envelope, we would write on the outside "Santa Claus" and addressed it to the North Pole. Then in the mailbox it went and away to the North Pole. Let me tell you, children love writing Santa letters!
Nowdays children in many parts of the world are writing those same Santa letters and getting just as excited. It's probably similar at your house at Christmas time. Santa letters are a wonderful tradition that has been passed down through many generations of children.
