There Are Several Options On The Table When Dealing With Unplanned Pregnancies

By Jennie R. Vance

Unplanned pregnancies have a funny way of popping up in the middle of your chaotic and hectic schedule. Things move so hurriedly in modern times that the important things can fall between the cracks. And when you recognize that you haven't had your period for several weeks or even months, it just might be too late. In a frenzy, you make your way to the market and purchase an early pregnancy test kit as fast as you can.

You race home and barricade yourself in the restroom as you wait for the test results to appear. The test results are what you suspected, and you are indeed with child. Oftentimes, single women who are already mothers forget that adoptions are just as viable an option or choice as terminating the pregnancy. Life is moving so quickly and the fact that they are unwed will bring about varying amounts of social scorn.

Even though we are in modern times, this is still the reality for many unwed women. If you've found yourself in this exceedingly difficult situation, take a minute to consider all of your options. There are many benefits connected with this alternative including the fact that your child will live, and you will be relived from some of the stress and guilt. Adoption will allow you to manage your expectations for your changing body and give you a feeling of control in an emotional situation.

We aren't making the case for adoption because we believe it is simple and without emotional consequences. We do this so that you, and the millions of women out there like you, take the time to consider a loving and viable alternative. Your thoughtfulness will give an infertile couple the opportunity to experience the joys of having a baby to love. I bet this was something you hadn't considered.

In an ideal world, you wouldn't be in this situation, but the fact remains that situations like these occur. Now that you are here, and the life of a child is hanging in the balance, adoption just might be the alternative you are looking for. So do some research online or talk to loved ones and friends to try and find the best adoption agency in your area. The benefits of this decision will be stress-relieving and you won't feel like abortion is the only answer.

Keep in mind that you do have choices - good and bad - and that it's okay to put everything on the table. Even though unplanned pregnancies weren't part of the plan, the experience can still be joyous. By contemplating adoption as a viable solution, your choices and alternatives are many.
