On the first night, I figured she'd eaten something bad off the street. On the second night, I figured it was the lingering effects of eating something bad off the street. My Mom picked up this Newman's food because it was available at the grocery store. They love the food, but what really surprises me is that his ears and skin have improved dramatically.
My dogs have eaten this formula and I believe Canidae is a pretty good and nutritious formula so I'm not sending it back. However, for folks who must have the beef and ocean fish formula may not be happy. We have been using Newman's organic dry dog food for over 5 years...it was a Godsend when we discovered it. Our little Jack had such severe allergies she was tormented day and night with unrelieved itching...after trying endless other avenues to find relief for her we were to the point we thought we might have to have her put down for her to find relief.
I truly recommend this dog food to everyone. I have three dog friends. Ok I have been through several dog food brands (all high end holistic fancy stuff) and have been through some rough times finding just what works perfect for my female Rhodesian Ridgeback. This food was like the miracle cure and after a year of my poor little girl trying different foods all she gets is complements on how great she looks from strangers as we walk the streets. Canidae is worth every penny. This is the best dog food I ever had her coat was thin and so was she now after a month she has a thick coat, no dander and has gained about 8 pound this is great stuff and she loves it I had read a lot about the health benefits of using Canidae for my dogs.
When we were feeding a well know premium pet store brand we were there at least 1 time every six weeks. They love the taste of Newman's and it keeps their tummy in tip top shape. My two small dogs took to the food immediately so well in fact I have had to move up the subscription for the 12 pound bag. Since they are young it's not immediate if they look healthier or bouncier as they seem to be that way all the time. I learned about the switch to new formulas from Canidae quite a while back but stuck with it. I have a German Shepard and a cat and both went through the switch just fine. Once she realizes nothing else is coming her way she will usually eat it but I feel bad since she obviously doesn't care for it. Like I said, I really want to like this product, but my dog has the final say. Other dog must have an iron constitution because she seems fine. I used to be a fan of Canidae, but after $2k in recent vet bills and a very sick dog, I found out there is a HUGE amount of Consumer Affairs complaints about this company.
Buy this food, you will not be disappointed! My dogs are in love with Canidae Maintenance Formula for All Life Stages, and so am I. Although I do not buy Canidae through Amazon, I wanted to rave about its quality. I am a dealer and own and operate a pet boarding facility.
