How To Make Custom Diaper Cakes For The Party

By Yvette Pope

Having a birthday cake for your children's party is a must. But did you know that not all cakes are eatable? There is this cake that has been popular for many years now and it is circulating around the globe. Just follow these simple steps and you'll have you own custom diaper cakes.

Gather At least 60 diapers, ribbons of any color, large and small rubber bands, cake platter, double sided tape, two 8-oz baby bottles, cake decorations and baby items. Of course you will have a white cake because of the diapers.

If you want it to be more unique, try coloring the diapers like pink or light blue. Use a spray paint or mix the paint with some white glue for it to stick. But after the party, please do not allow any mothers to use it to their children because they develop a rash afterwards.

Roll all of the sixty diapers first each one secured by a small rubber band. Get the baby bottle and place it at the center of the cake platter. Start placing rolled diapers having the bottle as the center. After doing that, make sure you put in the second and the third. It needs to be that thick because it will become the base of the cake. Do the second layer thinner that the first then so one and so forth.

After making three layers already, you are now ready to decorate. Get the ribbons and cut it exactly as the size of the layers with only an inch for the double sided tape. Start putting the cake decorations i. E., artificial flowers. Make sure they are secured on the diapers.

You can also put a photo of your child at the top of the cake. Put small stuffed toys, small baby bottles etc. There is another thing to do if you want to change the appearance of the cake but this is not usual. Try making a square diaper cake. Instead of one baby bottle at the center, make it four bottles.
