For a long time now Majorca has been an extremely well-known holiday location. Because it only takes a short amount of time to fly from the UK and when there you can experience high temperatures and amazing beaches, Majorca has become very popular. Recently though, people who previously loved holidaying in Majorca have begun to look elsewhere as it has started to gain a bad reputation. Popular clubbing resorts like Palma Nova and Magaluf have seen parts of the island overrun with young people clubbing and drinking long into the morning. Majorca is a big island though and there are other areas which are totally unaffected by this new type of visitor.
Bunyola is just one resort which is a great spot for a quiet, relaxing holiday. Over the years it has seen hardly any development and walking through it, you will find the locals going about their business as they always have done. Tourist accommodation in Bunyola isn't common but there is some; staying in Bunyola you can enjoy the Majorcan culture and avoid the British clubbers.
Cala Blava is similar to Bunyola but has a lot more potential for activities to do. The resort itself is very peaceful and secluded and the beach is usually quite empty. Cala Blava is only a short distance away from the more major resorts though and so people can travel to the shops and other attractions in the day before returning to their quite resort at night.
Then there is Cala Mesquida which is actually quite a popular resort. It boasts one of Majorca's nicest beaches but there are usually strong winds most of the time. These strong winds are the reason for its popularity as it makes the sea conditions perfect for surfers and wind surfers. Just like Cala blava, the distance to other resorts is minimal.
Majorca is still as beautiful and hot as ever and there really is no need for people who love the island to look elsewhere. There are certain areas such as Magaluf which aren't ideal for a quite or family holiday but then there are other resorts which aren't ideal for clubbers. Majorca is a versatile island and this is why it is still an excellent holiday destination.
